Cede was founded in 2010 by Bay Area songwriter and worship music leader, Scott Metcalf, along with Aaron Nuss, Alex Cordrey, Neil
MacPherson, and Stewart Burr. The band was soon joined by Grammy-nominee Tammi Brown, William Russ, Ryan Avellone, and Reggie Coates.
Over the course of their careers, the members of Cede have shared stages and studios with Chris Tomlin, David Crowder, Jars of Clay, and
Sonicflood, to name just a few.
Tammi has performed all over the world with industry heavy-hitters and has shared
the studio with top-notch artists. A San Francisco Bay Area native, Tammi was
raised in a Christian home and was exposed to gospel music at an early age.
Noteworthy is her work on Stanley Jordan’s 2008 CD release, “State of Nature, ”
which received a Grammy nomination. Tammi has also recently been in the studio
with the band Coldplay.
William began his love and appreciation for music while attending his home church, Hartford MBC, in Detroit, MI. That love continued through college and 5 years in the U.S. Army, leading him to The Netherlands where he began his touring career as a performer. Will has opened for countless well-known acts including Brian McKnight, Ray Charles, The Temptations, and Toby Mac.

Aaron's love of Christian music came from his childhood friend, Eddie Culin.
(No, not that one.) Together they formed A&E, a group that performed for
children’s/teen church programs throughout California. It was through A&E that
Aaron met Scott Metcalf and began his journey with Cede.
Neil began studying piano at the age of 7 in Denver, CO. He became a
professional musician at 13, and by 18 he had toured Europe, Canada and
the US. He has a degree in piano performance from the University of
Northern Colorado and certificates in songwriting and music business from
the University of California, Los Angeles. In various projects, he has
appeared onstage with Bobby McFerrin, Marc Ford (Black Crowes, Allman
Brothers), John Popper (Blues Traveler), America, and DJ Bonebrake(X).
Alex cut his teeth in his home town of Cincinnati, OH and expanded his
professional vision in Nashville, TN. In 2003, he moved to Oakland, California and
continued his musical and spiritual exploration. He’s played with Joseph Wooten
(Steve Miller Band), Akil Thompson (Toby Mac), Melinda Doolittle (American Idol),
members of Counting Crows, and Train. To Alex, Cede is the most fertile ground
yet in which to sow the vibration of love with low notes.
Stewart holds a degree from Sonoma State University and has toured
nationally and internationally with Chubby Checker, Chuck Prophet,
and Red Archibald as well as numerous recording artists. Stewart also
played drums for the legendary jazz pianist Bob Lucas. Stewart tours,
records, and teaches drums full time.
Ryan is a young and passionate player who is fluent in many styles from Rock and
Roll to Jazz to Bluegrass. He first hit the scene in Santa Cruz, CA in 2009 fronting
two explosive bands on guitar and mandolin. He has dedicated his life to the
pursuit of new and exciting musical experiences and is sure to wow audiences
around the world for years to come.
Reggie is the Executive Director of Heartfelt Music Ministry (Leadership/Music/Training). He has been playing guitar for over 35 years and has shared the stage with artists such as Phil Keaggy, Chris Tomlin, and David Crowder. He has 12 recordings with his most current CD called Here to Worship.

Scott had a "Damascus Road" experience in 1999 after years of walking away from
God. He returned to the church and became involved in music ministry. In 2008, he
travelled to Nashville to record an album of his songs with some of the top artists in
Christian music, including members of Sonicflood, Chris Tomlin's band, Caedmon's
Call, and Jars of Clay. Returning to California, he set out to form a band of
Nashville-caliber musicians.
Although Scott no longer performs with the band, it was his vision that gave birth to
Cede.
